What We Do

ISDN promotes inclusion and equity in our school communities.
We achieve this through a number of programs and initiatives by:

Creating Cultural Awareness Opportunities

- ISDN fosters communication by creating multi-school opportunities and networking among parents, educators, affinity groups, school leaders and develops community events to facilitate greater discourse.
- ISDN partners with like-minded organizations.
- ISDN creates safe spaces for educators and parents to interact in neutral settings to confront issues rather than each other.

Broadens Inter-School Collaboration and Builds Effective Partnerships

ISDN creates the infrastructure for schools to share methods that generate the best community-building results.

Providing Support for Parents and Affinity Groups

-  ISDN provides insight and guidance on the needs of parents derived from our experience with many families and schools.
- Race and Privilege Parent Alliance (RAPPA) offers monthly meetings dedicated to anti-bias awareness. This group is affiliated with People's Institute fro Survival & Beyond (PISAB).

Offers Character Building Programming & Social Events for Students

- The On Track Program is an educational empowerment program for students of color in grades 5-8.
- Me and My Grownups Workshops provide early skills development and social interaction for students of color in grades K-3 and their parents.

Aiding Schools With Achievement of their Community Life Goals

ISDN is ready to meet with your school to discuss methods to enhance your social justice endeavors.
